Daily Harvest: Honest Thoughts.

Daily Harvest immediately caught my eye on one of those unsolicited, creepy, the internet is watching you, type of ads that pop up everywhere nowadays.  The superfoods and pretty packaging are really what sparked my interest.

I’m all about convenience.  I’ve always wanted to be that person who wakes up at 5 AM, works out, and makes my own smoothie from scratch, drinking it in my perfect kitchen, glistening like a superhero; but, as a 28-year-old, I have finally accepted the fact that I just am not that person.  I’m usually more of a – snooze 5 times, wake up just in time to slap some makeup on, run out the door, drink breakfast while I drive kinda gal.  (I’m working on this, but hey, it’s hard.)

I got 9 cups the first week, and it was the perfect amount, since I wanted to do a handful of breakfast smoothies, but also try their lunch options.  They have different weekly and monthly plan options, with varying prices.

These are the cups I got (from my most fave to least fave for smoothies):

  1. Cold Brew + Almond Energizer Smoothie
  2. Acai + Cherry Beautifier Smoothie
  3. Strawberry + Peach Reviver Smoothie
  4. Carrot + Chia Glow Smoothie
  5. Apple + Greens Detox Smoothie
  6. Cauliflower Rice + Kimchi Harvest Bowl
  7. Brussels Sprouts + Tahini Harvest Bowl
  8. Carrot + Coconut Curry Soup
  9. Blackberry + Majik Chia Parfait

The smoothies were by far my favorite.  On top of the convenience, they are really filling and energizing.  When I drank them around 8 AM, I wouldn’t get hungry till at least 11:30 or so.  I will definitely get the first three smoothies again, especially the cold brew one.  I could drink that every single morning.  Their soups and harvest bowls are delicious too.  I didn’t love the chia parfait, but I made it warm in the microwave, and there is a cold overnight oats way to prepare it too, so I will try that.

I used almond milk and coconut milk as my base for everything.  A few of the smoothies say you can use a lighter base like coconut water or filtered water, but I didn’t like that as much.  It tasted too icy and bland.  I like my smoothies creamier.

Added bonus:  All of Daily Harvest’s packaging, cups, and lids are recyclable – so, you can feel good about taking care of yourself AND the environment.  <3

Hope that was helpful.  I’m happy to answer any other questions you might have.

  1. I love the packaging, I know that sounds weird but packaging is what draws me to a product. Yum, I could do one of these for breakfast! I’m a horrible breakfast eater so i usually snack all morning until lunch. That has to change, thanks for the code!

    1. It’s not weird at all – I love the packaging too! It’s pretty to look at AND super convenient. I really like that you can take everything on the go. Hope you enjoy! <3
